Our response to the Spending Review 2025
Amy Little, Head of Advocacy at Leonard Cheshire, said:
“In her speech today, the Chancellor backed a Fair Pay Agreement for social care workers. Yet it is not clear if the Fair Pay Agreement has enough funding or when it will see the light of day. Social care providers are still reeling from the rise in employer National Insurance.
Government funding must soon reach the pockets of our essential social care workforce. Without enough social care workers, disabled people will miss out on vital support to live their lives as they choose."

About Leonard Cheshire
One in four people in the UK are disabled. For more than 75 years, we have worked directly with disabled people to give them the freedom to live their lives the way they choose with the opportunity to fully take part in society.
Today, our staff provide social care services support to help over 1,000 disabled people across the UK.
In addition to offering high-quality care and community support, we lead campaigns to influence government to implement legislation that positively benefits the lives of disabled people. As well as fighting for disabled people’s rights, we work with partners to deliver support and life-changing employment programmes.
