More than just a place to meet

Leonard Cheshire Day Service is the perfect place to get out and meet people, and we offer so much more besides. Whether you want to develop your skills, try out new activities or become more independent, we’d love you to pop in and see what we’re all about.

Lively and welcoming

The programme of activities on offer changes regularly and our ideas come from the people who use the service.  There are plenty of activities to get involved in, including swimming, cycling on our accessible bikes, boxing, access to the great outdoors, going out for a coffee or lunch or just chilling out in the pamper room.  Our friendly staff will support you to do the things you want to do. The service is fully accessible and we also have a sensory room and an IT suite.

What you’ll get out of it

We’ll work with you to develop a person-centred support plan. It will include the things you like to do and things you want to achieve with us. We often help the people who use our day service to:

• Become more independent
• Make new friends
• Improve their life skills
• Learn new skills
• Have a laugh and a great day out

The people you’ll meet…

Cheshire House is used by people of all abilities, including people with physical and/or learning disabilities.  There’s always some of our friendly volunteers around if you prefer to sit and have a chat. Equally they will happily support you to enjoy your day the way you want to.

Because the activities we offer are suggested by the people who use our service, the list of things you can do here is growing all the time. Here are a few of the things you can try:

• Hydrotherapy swimming and a variety of different sports
• Introduction/Access to IT
• Art Therapy
• Music and relaxation
• Find out what’s happening in the community and join in
• Drama classes at Eden Court Theatre

We also have a fully adapted minibus to help us to get out and about within our community and beyond.
