Who we support

We’re a specialist provider delivering person-centred care. Our residents have a wide range of physical disabilities and/or long-term health conditions, such as:

  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Huntington's disease
  • Stroke
  • Acquired brain injury

I’ve been living at Heatherley for 13 years now. There is a wide variety and of activities – cooking, painting making cards, playing games. You name it, we do it. When I came here I was invited to an art class; at first, I thought it wouldn’t be possible as I cannot use my body from the neck down. I was encouraged to give mouth painting a try, and now it's something I love.

What care we provide

Our team will make sure your needs are understood and met – all with the greatest privacy and respect. This is a safe and friendly place to live, with high quality care and nursing.

Our registered nurse teams are trained to deliver specialist care and have experience supporting people with:

  • CPAP management
  • Tracheostomy support
  • Enteral feeding
  • Dysphagia (including prevention and response)
  • Tissue viability
  • Catheter management

Physiotherapy is also available to support your physical wellbeing. We have a part-time physio and a part-time physio assistant.

Everyone has their own individual support document, their person-centred plan (PCP). We provide full personal care. We support everyone to live their lives as they choose, helping people to make plans, build life skills and be as independent as possible.

Heatherley is a great place to work because we are a family. We create memories, we have good laughs. We are a very hardworking team with a deep understanding of how to support others.
