Disability support we provide

Who do we support?

We provide high-quality person-centred care for disabled adults in the UK. We support people with a physical condition and people with learning disabilities.

What care do we provide?

We have a growing number of supported living services. And we have a wide range of care homes, including residential services and residential nursing services.

We work closely with individuals to meet their needs, wishes and goals.

The number of hours of support a person receives depends on their individual care package. The care package can be assessed (and sometimes funded by) the local authority or NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC).

Type of support available

Supported living

Supported living services assist disabled adults of all ages. Tenants live in a building where everyone has their own flat. Leonard Cheshire provides the support workers, so people can live as independently as possible. Some of our services assist people with primarily physical needs; others assist people with learning disabilities.

We provide support as a when needed. This might include:

  • External activities as requested by the individual
  • Support with all forms of personal care
  • Support to manage and give medication.
  • Building independent living skills, including finance skills, volunteering and employment skills

Residential care

Our residential homes support people with disabilities – mostly people with primarily physical conditions (though some homes are aimed at people with learning disabilities).

Our highly skilled professional support teams are trained to deliver specialist care. This includes:

  • Internal and external activities, tailored to individual interests.
  • Support with all forms of personal care and daily living tasks.
  • Support to manage and give medication.
  • Physiotherapy (in some services, where several people’s care packages can enable this. *)

*The funding in people’s care packages would come from local authority social services or NHS Continuing HealthCare (CHC)

Residential Care with nursing

Our residential homes with nursing care provide all the support as mentioned, plus extra support from a team of registered nurses.
