Volunteering policies
Our policies are here to keep everyone safe and make sure that people know how to handle different situations.
They help and protect you as much as everyone else, and they’ll help make sure we can all do our best. Below we have included a selection of policies most relevant to you, our volunteers. Please ask your volunteer coordinator or manager if you would like more information.
Information about our safeguarding policies will be uploaded shortly, in the meantime if you have any queries about safeguarding please contact your volunteer coordinator or manager.
Confidentiality policy
We take confidentiality seriously. Both yours and the disabled people we support. We should all take steps to make sure that information, online and in print, stays confidential.
This policy will help you make sure personal information is kept safe.
Data protection policy
We hold a lot of information about our customers, staff and about you, as volunteers with us. We all have a responsibility to keep data safe, and our data security policy sets out how we will do this.
Dignity at work policy
Everyone should be treated fairly. And no one should be subjected to harassment or bullying. It’s the minimum we should all be able to expect.
This policy explains how we make sure everyone is treated with dignity.
Driving and driver safety policy
This policy will help you understand what is expected if you will be driving one of our vehicles, or driving a customer in your own vehicle.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We expect everyone to be viewed equally, regardless of their ability, gender, race, religion or background.
This policy helps ensure everyone connected with Leonard Cheshire receives fair and equal treatment.
Health and safety policy
Keeping people safe is fundamental to what we do.
You’ll be provided with the relevant training when you volunteer to make sure you can carry out your role safely.
